1. Who we are

Orion is a route discovery application operated by Sextant. Our service helps travellers plan road trips across Europe by discovering hotels, restaurants, attractions and tours along their route. For privacy matters, you can contact us at privacy@oriontravel.app.

2. What data we collect

We collect only what is necessary to operate and improve the service: - Route searches (origin, destination, travel preferences) - Interactions with places (hotels, restaurants, sights, tours you click) - Filters and features you use within the app - Anonymous session identifiers (no account required) - Technical data such as browser type and approximate location (country level) We do not collect your name, email address, or any personally identifiable information unless you voluntarily contact us.

3. Legal basis for processing

We process data under the following legal bases (GDPR Article 6): - Legitimate interest — to understand how the app is used and improve it - Consent — for analytics and marketing cookies, which you can manage via the cookie banner - Legal obligation — where required by applicable law You can withdraw consent at any time by clearing your browser's local storage or using the cookie settings.

4. Cookies and tracking

We use three tiers of cookies: Essential — required for the app to function. Always active. Analytics — help us understand usage patterns (routes searched, features used). Only active with your consent. Marketing — enable personalised recommendations. Only active with your explicit consent. Cookie preferences are stored locally in your browser. No consent data is sent to third parties.

5. Third-party services

Orion uses the following third-party services: - Google Maps Platform — for route calculation and map display. Google's Privacy Policy applies. - Supabase — for anonymous event storage. Data is stored in EU-based infrastructure. - Booking affiliate partners — when you tap BOOK NOW, you are redirected to a third-party booking site. Their privacy policy applies from that point. We do not sell your data to any third party.

6. Data retention

Anonymous usage events are retained for up to 24 months for analytics purposes, then deleted. We do not retain any personally identifiable information.

7. Your rights (GDPR)

Under the GDPR, you have the right to: - Access the data we hold about you - Request deletion of your data - Object to processing - Lodge a complaint with your national data protection authority Since we do not collect personally identifiable information by default, most requests can be fulfilled by simply clearing your browser data. 8. Data transfers

All data is processed and stored within the European Union. We do not transfer personal data to countries outside the EEA.

9. Children

Orion is not directed at children under 16. We do not knowingly collect data from minors.

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The date at the top of the page reflects the most recent revision. Continued use of Orion after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.
